Junior Racing

Summer Series MSC 2010 Junior Sailing/Racing

During the spring, summer and autumn junior sailing season we run a dinghy racing series on Tuesday evenings. This year all going well this will run from Tue 8^th of June until the 31^st of Aug 10.  This does not suit all junior members and their parents all of the time with exams and holidays etc. We are required to have a committee member and parents on the water during these races. The numbers required depend on the levels of the participants on the water.

 The Tuesdays are very well attended especially during the junior sailing courses. We need to get the parents of junior members out on the water on these Tuesday evenings, to ensure we are able to run the planned races.  Parents will assist with the running of the races and can have a very enjoyable and exciting few hours watching the juniors display and improving their sailing skills and this then encourages them to take part in away events.  No specialist skills are required of the parents helping out as the required specialists will be provided by the club.  The more time like this the children or teenagers spend on the water the better their sailing skills are.

We will contact all parents who have children racing on a Tuesday evening to establish a rota of parents to assist with the running of the races.  Without this parental involvement it may unfortunately not be possible to run the junior dinghy racing series in 2010.
