Connaught School'sTeam-Racing Championship

On Saturday the 19th of March Mayo Sailing Club held the Connaught School'sTeam-Racing Championship. The event was run by 'Bow-wave's' of Galway who supplied the sailing dinghies.
Six Teams competed including Schools from locatd in Galway,Castlebar, Kinvara and Westport in the event, which after a short postponement as a result of no wind commenced with the 'Round Robin' stages. Each team raced each other, the top 4 teams then went through to the semi-final's where Rice College of  Westport were crowned 'Western Champs' after some tough and a skillfull competition from their opponents Oranmore. Having won the event Rice College will go through to compete in the School's National Championships due to be held in April.
